What is Big Notts Switch?
Climate change charity Nottingham Energy Partnership is delighted to launch its fourth Collective Switching Campaign, in partnership with iChoosr. Great news, this year’s campaign has gone green, with only 100% renewable tariffs on offer. So, as well as saving yourself some money, you will also be doing your bit for the planet.
Big Notts Switch is part of a nationwide Collective Switching scheme (powered by iChoosr) bringing together thousands of people from across the country who are looking for a better energy price – last year over 31,000 people registered. On a local level Nottingham Energy Partnership are the coordinators of the Nottinghamshire campaign. The more people who register the bigger the potential savings for everyone. Last year, the average saving for a dual fuel online customer was £324! The campaign also generates deals for dual fuel offline, electricity only and prepayment households.
Whether you’ve just not got around to switching energy suppliers, or are always on the look out for a better deal, being part of this people powered movement puts the onus on the energy companies to offer the best possible deals – which are exclusive only to this campaign. It’s hassle free – the whole process is managed on your behalf, and there is no obligation to switch.

How does the Big Notts Switch work?
- It’s free to register, and you can do this online or over the phone
- You will need the following information handy: contact details, annual energy use (in kWh units) and existing energy supplier and tariff name (all of which can be found on your annual statement)
- At the end of the registration period an auction will be held with energy providers to find out which one will provide the best price to supply energy to the households that have registered
- After the auction takes place, you will be sent a personal offer anytime between February 22nd and March 9th 2021 – you then decide whether to switch or not, you have until 23rd March 2021 to decide!
