About Nottingham Energy Partnership
Nottingham Energy Partnership (NEP), with Meadows Ozone Energy Services (Mozes), are part of the team leading the Green Meadows community climate action project. Funded by the National Lottery Climate Action Fund, the project aims to equip the people of the Meadows with the knowledge, skills and support to engage effectively with the Climate Crisis.
The project aims to empower people to take action at an individual and community level, and to help to build a wider movement. We see the Climate Crisis not only as a threat, but a chance to bring about positive change. Drawing on the opportunities created by the transition to net zero, and the ideas and actions of people in the Meadows, we aim to improve life both in our own area and in the wider community.
Green Meadows is lead by Nottingham Energy Partnership, NEP is a Queens Award winning charity for Enterprise in Sustainable Development, the highest accolade for a UK business and a Home Improvement Agency. We are always looking for energetic, motivated individuals to join our team.
Our core activity is to deliver schemes that reduce fuel poverty within the private sector across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. We also have a commercial arm that makes businesses more sustainable with contracts spanning England and Wales.
NEP is an Energy Charity with a focus on Climate Change and Fuel Poverty. Our longest standing affordable warmth scheme Nottinghamshire Healthy Housing Service (NHHS), focuses on reducing energy bills and raising the thermal efficiency of private homes. It offers a wealth of free and subsidised home improvements including loft and cavity wall insulation, solid wall insulation, heating improvements and home visits for vulnerable households. Their outcomes are linked very closely with health, having received funding for over 15 years from public health within Nottinghamshire.
Our latest projects include the delivery of Customer Journey Support for the Green Homes Grant Local Authority Delivery Scheme across Nottinghamshire, and the Warm Homes Hub. The WHH aims to help Nottinghamshire residents with free advice, central heating system and insulation instal as well as support in time of crisis.
The charity also educates the public and NHS frontline staff on energy efficiency and fuel poverty through community energy workshops and their bespoke ‘Improving Health through Warmer Homes’ training course.
NEP have also been a key partner in two European funded programmes, one, a Smart Cities demonstration project called REMOURBAN based in Sneinton, and the second, SENSIBLE, an Energy Storage domestic research project in the Meadows. We have also just secured National Lottery Community Funding to deliver a five year climate change project in the the Meadows area of Nottingham.
NEP has a 37% share in Nottinghamshire’s first community owned solar farm, located in Colston Bassett. We facilitate NCE’s community fund and its marketing.
NEP employs both full time and part time staff, and an additional team of self-employed Technical Surveyors. Our operations are governed by a Board of Trustees.
