A new, hassle free way for Nottinghamshire residents to benefit from energy efficiency and eco-friendly heating improvements.
Local climate change charity, NEP, has joined forces with Nottinghamshire County Council and E.ON to launch the Green Homes Grant Nottinghamshire.
Nottinghamshire residents can now benefit from free home improvement measures including low-carbon heating systems such as air source heat pumps and solar power to generate hot water and electricity. Solid wall, cavity wall and loft insulation measures, which have the quickest and biggest impact on energy conservation, are also covered by the grant. The scheme offers smaller measures such as replacement doors, and smart heating controls for your new system too.
To meet eligibility criteria for the free measures, residents must:
- Be a homeowner or landlord*, and
- Have a combined gross household income of under £30,000, and
- Have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) of D,E,F or G
Reg Adair, Deputy Leader of Nottinghamshire County Council commented on the scheme, saying:
“The Green Homes Grant Nottinghamshire is a fantastic new scheme helping households across the County to improve the quality of their home’s heating and energy efficiency. This scheme is particularly exciting as it offers fully funded heating and insulation measures for low income households which previously were not covered by any Government grant. I would encourage residents to get in touch as soon as possible to benefit from these measures.”
NEP Programme Manager, Dr Mark Kirkwood added:
“As a fuel poverty charity, it is important to us that Nottinghamshire residents, particularly those classed as vulnerable, are able to access home improvements through a more streamlined and hassle-free process. And as a climate change charity, it’s also fantastic for us to be able to offer low carbon heating solutions for these households”
Residents can get in touch with us to check their eligibility and chat quickly and easily through the measures of interest. If they are eligible, the Green Homes Grant Nottinghamshire team will organise a home visit and the installation of the measures, at absolutely no cost to the client.
Understandably there is an increased financial pressure on many residents with people spending significantly more time indoors. By ensuring that homes are more energy efficient, NEP hopes to make energy bills more affordable for all clients. We can also support residents even further with our range of financial and wellbeing support services.
Nigel Dewbery, Director of Obligation Delivery and Installation Services at E.ON, said:
“We’re really pleased to be working with Nottinghamshire County Council and NEP to give eligible residents the opportunity to install a range of energy efficiency measures on their properties. This demonstrates E.ON’s commitment to helping improve the energy efficiency of housing across the UK and reducing individual homeowners’ impact on the environment, all helping to support our net-zero targets.”
* Please note that landlords can only benefit from partially funded improvements. Those who register interest will be put on a waiting list and contacted again in January 2021.
