What is an ESOS Energy Assessment?

It’s a nationally recognised assessment that measures energy use within your building(s), including any industrial processes and transport activity; it identifies ways to improve and reduce your energy consumption and suggests cost-effective energy saving measures to ultimately reduce your energy spend.

If your business is defined as a ‘large undertaking’ you will need to comply

This is a mandatory assessment scheme for organisations that are classed as a ‘large undertaking’ (employs 250 or more people or has an annual turnover in excess of 50 million euro – £44,845,000). If you fall into this category but do not comply, unfortunately, The Environment Agency (scheme administrator) will enforce a fine, of between £5,000 and £50,000.
