Let’s Go Eco

As a climate change charity and registered Home Improvement Agency we are always looking for ways to inspire and encourage householders to take the next step in lowering their impact on the environment and their bills by improving the energy efficiency of their home.

With that in mind we launched Let’s Go Eco, an interactive, animated house, based on the footprint and energy use of a typical 3 bed semi. Please note, energy savings were calculated in February 2021.

Or read on to learn more about the tool.

  • It’s for ANYONE interested in making their home more thermal efficient, interested in investing in a low carbon technology, it’s also a great tool for kids (and adults) as an introduction to how they can lead a greener, more sustainable lifestyle.

  • Let’s Go Eco is funded by NTU’s Enabling Innovation fund and Nottingham Energy Partnership (NEP). It has been designed and developed by Nottingham Creative Agency, Rusty Monkey.

  • We are a forward thinking climate change charity and are always keen to elevate our communication and build on one of our charitable aims which is 'To advance the education of the public about energy efficiency'.

  • - As a visual aid during our Community Energy Workshops and Front Line Staff Fuel Poverty Training Sessions

    - Signposting clients who we provide energy advice to

Our Green Meadows climate change community project uses it as part of their schools engagement programme and community workshops.

A few words from the tool’s contributors…

Alison Mcguire - NEP Marketing Manager

“We were lucky enough to secure an Enabling Innovation grant from NTU which was the catalyst for this project, Rusty Monkey then bought our vision to life, exceeding what we ever thought possible. We are really excited the tool is out in the wild.  We hope visitors will be inspired to live a more low carbon, sustainable lifestyle - we feel it makes energy efficiency more fun and easier to digest, opening the door to many more people.”

Rusty Monkey Team

“We were thrilled to work alongside NEP to deliver such a meaningful project. Any contribution that we can make to improve people's lives and create a positive impact on our environment is something that will inspire us to go the extra mile. Our hope is that the tool will help people have a better understanding of how they can improve their homes to be more eco-friendly and educate us all to better understand our individual impact”

Megan Powell Vreeswijk, Head of Enterprise Innovation Centre, Nottingham Trent University

“The Enabling Innovation programme at NTU has supported over 500 SMEs across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire over the past five years, and we’re excited to be a part of this collaborative project with NEP to inspire and encourage people to live a greener and more sustainable lifestyle.”
