About Us
We are a climate change and fuel poverty charity providing home improvement measures to improve the energy efficiency of homes throughout Nottinghamshire.
Our interventions reduce carbon emissions and make homes cheaper to run. We strive to provide peace of mind for our clients, making homes and businesses more resilient and less reliant on fossil fuels.
We are passionate in doing our part to fight the climate crisis. All our projects have the same overarching aim - to cut carbon emissions which in turn will slow climate change.
Our projects (along with our partners) supply free and subsidised home insulation, heating upgrades and renewable technologies. We are committed in making inefficient homes affordable to run, fit for the future and less impactful to the environment. Our projects centre around a ‘fabric-first’ approach - this ensures that before energy generation, the shell of any property must be insulated first.
We have robust referral streams with local service providers, allowing us to offer a tool kit of measures to help improve the health and wellbeing of residents over the age of 60 and families with young children.
What are our aims?
To advise householders on how best to future fit their homes and how to make the best use of renewable energy. To also continue to open doors to these technologies by securing grants and subsidies through available funding streams .
To protect and preserve the environment and public health, by educating the need for home energy efficiency and how crucial it is to reduce harmful emissions, whilst improving the overall health of a home.
To play a key role in making practical, positive change against the Climate Crisis. To effectively communicate the urgency of keeping global temperatures at bay.

How did we form?
In 1997 a proposal was delivered to Nottingham City Council for an initiative to develop a holistic view of energy requirements and to deliver a comprehensive energy strategy for the city of Nottingham.
In 1998, Nottingham Energy Partnership (NEP) was established.
Since then, NEP has gone from strength to strength. NEP became a company limited by guarantee and gaining charitable status in 2001.
