NEP work in collaboration with Severn Trent to help keep money in your own pockets, which can be achieved in several different ways through either the Severn Trent Big Difference or via their Customer Assistance Scheme: 

About Severn Trent Big Difference:

Eligibility Criteria:

You could receive up to 70% off your water bill if your household income is under £22,010, and if you have under £3000 in savings. Please note: This can increase up to £26,048 if there are more than 3 dependents in the property.

The Big Difference Scheme will assess your household income when you apply, this then determines the level of reduction you're able to get.

Please note the following benefits do not need to be entered as income (correct as of 11.06.24): 

  • Housing Benefit  

  • Housing Cost element (within Universal Credit) 

  • Council Tax Support 

  • Personal Independence Payment (Daily Living/ Mobility) 

  • Daily Living Allowance (Care/ Mobility) 

  • Child Care Costs (within Universal Credit. Working Tax Credit) 

  • Attendance Allowance 

  • Limited Capability for Work, Limited Capability for Work-Related Activity elements and Housing Costs paid within Universal Credit 

  • Disability premium, enhanced disability premium and severe disability premium paid within Employment & Support Allowance, Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support and Pension Credit 

Support Available:

  • Check you’re receiving the right income, either by reviewing your eligibility for benefits or checking you’re being paid the right wage

    • You must be a Severn Trent Customer

    • You must have an annual income of £25,000* or less

  • Support with debt negotiation and repayment plans

    • You must be a Severn Trent Customer

    • Have a Severn Trent Arrears of £700 or more

  • Severn Trent may also be able to help with essential household items if they are broken, so please mention this if it applies to you:

    • Fridge-freezer

    • Cooker

    • Washing machine
