External Wall Insulation & Air Source Heat Pump

I would definitely recommend Nottingham Energy Partnership to others, they were really clear and the process was straight forward, whenever I asked a question I got a thorough answer, I couldn’t have asked for more. My home has improved, and my health has improved. I’m very happy.

Background

Mr. P is a 65-year-old who resides alone in a one-bedroom bungalow in Colwick. He purchased the property in 2021, but soon began experiencing difficulties with issues such as cold, dampness, and mould. These conditions have raised significant concerns, particularly given his asthma.

After an assessment, it was discovered that his home is off gas, and his main source of heat was through electric heaters and coal.

This, along with his EPC and low income, allowed him to be put forward to Home Upgrade Grants 2 (HUG2) and Healthy Housing.

About the improvements received

Mr P received free EWI and Air Source Heat Pump, meaning that he saved £31,595.90 on installation costs and could start saving £550 a year on his energy bills.

Why did Mr P sign up?

Mr P needed help with his living conditions and searched the internet for a charity that could help him, the local council directed him to us after assuring him we were legitimate.

“My home was very cold with lots of mould, but I was so used to it that I didn’t notice it until people came round and commented. It smelled bad due to the damp and mould, but I can already see a big improvement.”

What did Mr P think of the ASHP?

When Mr P got his Air Source Heat Pump he found that the home became significantly warmer, with the condensation and damp not being an issue anymore due to the constant warm temperature.

He also said “My bills have gone down since getting the insulation, but since getting an Air Source Heat Pump I have noticed them go up again. I am okay paying that as the house is better for it, and it has improved my health.”

The installation raised the rating on his Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) from an F to a high D.
